We're renewing the Winton Road Reserve playground located at 38 Winton Road, Ashburton.

Help us develop a design for the new playground, based on your ideas. What do you love about the existing playground and want to keep? What could we improve?

Share your thoughts in our survey or post your idea, drawing or photo in the box below. We’ll consider all feedback when developing a draft concept design to share with you early next year.

About the renewal

We’re planning to renew the Winton Road Reserve playground to:

  • improve accessibility
  • increase nature play opportunities
  • better meet the needs of children and families, now and into the future.

We’ve prioritised this playground for renewal as some equipment is ageing and some posts in the main timber play structures are starting to rot.

About the existing playground

The current playground was built in 2004 and is much-loved for its variety of play options, including a:

  • combination unit with an elevated floor, wave slide, telescope, shop front, tic-tac-toe, cubby seat and steep chain bridge connected to monkey bars and a track-glide.
  • spring rider (frog)
  • swing
  • spring seesaw
  • rock climbing wall
  • stand-on carousel.

This playground is classified as a local playground in Boroondara's Playground Redevelopment Strategy. For a quick summary of what that means, see the question panel on the right of this page.
