Highfield Park is one of the 4 locations where we proposed new outdoor fitness equipment to be installed. The proposed site for the new outdoor fitness equipment is in the north east corner of Highfield Reserve, near Riversdale Road in Camberwell.

Feedback from our community

We sought community feedback on our proposal to install the new outdoor fitness equipment at Highfield Park. The community feedback survey was open from 17 March to 3 April 2022. We would like to thank the 91 people who completed this survey for their feedback.

Out of those who completed the survey, 91% of people supported the new outdoor fitness equipment being installed at this location.

We also heard:

  • from 9 people that they would like the equipment to have more variety
  • from 15 people that they would like pull-up or other static upper body strength equipment.

What we will deliver at Highfield Park

At Highfield Park, we provided a mix of strength and cardio equipment including:

  • an Aerobic Cycle and Elliptical Trainer to increase cardio fitness and full body strength
  • a Sit-up Bench to strengthen the core
  • a Body Twist, Chest Press and Pull-Down machine for a more challenging workout
  • a combined Pull-up and Leg Raise Station, which we added to the design based on feedback during community consultation.

The colour for the equipment is green and charcoal. It also has a grey rubber under surface.

The size of the area is around 52 meters squared. We also added a new resting seat.

The equipment was installed at the north-east end of Highfield Park.

The equipment is designed to suit a range of ages and abilities.
