Our Climate Action Plan
Our Low Carbon Future Strategy ended in 2020. To replace it, Council committed to develop a Climate Action Plan in its final meeting of 2019.
Our draft Climate Action Plan aims to:
- bring our existing environmental sustainability commitments and strategies into one plan
- define the strategic direction we will take in response to the challenges of climate change over the next decade
- inform our future strategic actions regarding sustainability.
After listening to our community and considering your feedback so far, we have developed a draft Climate Action Plan to deliver on the issues you told us are important to you.
Our draft plan recognises the real and increasing threat of our changing climate to:
- our environment
- our health and wellbeing
- the quality of life of current and future generations.
The draft plan calls for action by individuals, businesses and all levels of government. Together, we can work to further reduce our city’s environmental impact.

Have your say
We encourage you to share your feedback on the draft plan by completing the survey below.
We want to hear:
- how you rate the plan overall
- what actions in the plan are most and least important to you
- what actions you think are still missing from the plan.
You can also request to receive a hard copy of the survey or to complete it over the phone by contacting us on 9278 4444 or emailing boroondara@boroondara.vic.gov.au.
